Rechill Ice Bath JAV

A 800 sq.m. wellness facility occupying a semi-outdoor floor plate within JAvenue Thonglor — one of Bangkok's most curated lifestyle destinations. The brief called for a recovery-focused environment that feels removed from its urban context, without losing connectivity to the tropical surroundings.

The design language is rooted in biophilic principles: raw bamboo screens define the ice bath enclosure and ceiling plane, filtering natural light while establishing visual rhythm throughout the space. Teak decking, rattan pendants, and dark stone tile create a material palette that reads as warm and tactile — a deliberate counterpoint to the clinical associations of cold-water therapy.

The program spans cold plunge pools, warm barrel soaking tubs, a social lounge, café counter, and changing facilities — each zone differentiated through materiality and light rather than hard partition. The result is a continuous, immersive environment where the act of recovery feels indistinguishable from leisure.
